The Thar Coalfield Block 1 coal-fired power integration project in Pakistan, a key energy construction project within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, has garnered significant attention from the Chinese and Pakistani governments and public sectors since its launch in 2015.
The project, with an annual production capacity of 7.8 million tons of lignite and equipped with two 660-megawatt high-parameter supercritical thermal power generating units, is key to promoting local energy self-sufficiency and economic development. Once operational, it will provide continuous, stable, and clean electricity to over 4 million Pakistani households, effectively safeguarding Pakistan's energy security and contributing to its economic and social development.
